The Tadpole Nebula (IC 410)
I just wrapped up my first imaging project of 2022 on the target NGC 1893 and IC 410 often called the Tadpole Nebula. To me this is just one of those really unique emission nebulae in that against the backdrop of this larger emission nebula there are these two, squiggly floating structures that look like they are swimming upstream. Located in the constellation Auriga, this very dusty place is rich in young star formation and is roughly 12,000 light-years from Earth. In the larger region nearby, the IC 410 sits near another large emission nebula called the Flaming Star.

This SHO version combines just shy of 30 hours total time shot over the course of December 2021 and January 2022. Below I’ve also included a HOO, bi-color version as well.
