The Cygnus Wall (part of NGC 7000)
The Cygnus Wall is one part of a larger interstellar cloud of gas called the North America Nebula (NGC 7000) as it literally looks like the shape of North America. The wall is located in the southern portion of the nebula that would represent the Gulf of Mexico. This nebula can be found in the constellation Cygnus that is a very prominent mid-Summer and Fall constellation high in the sky of the Northern Hemisphere.

The complete project includes roughly ~17 hrs of data between all of the narrow band filters combined into a color image. I’ve also included a second version that just uses the Hydrogen alpha and Oxygen 3 filters to produce a more natural look. The second image includes ~13 hrs of collected data between the two filters.
