NGC 7822

After spending most of October working on this one it’s still only 2/3rds done. But it’s good enough for now.

This is my first real attempt doing a mosaic. It’s a bi-color 4 panel image of NGC 7822. Ever since the start of Oct I’ve fought clouds and rain but still managed to get 41.5 hrs of integration time spread over the 4 panels for the Ha and O3 filters. Next year I’ll work to drag in some of the S2 filter.

NGC 7822 is a large nebula structure in the constellation Cepheus that has several open clusters of stars in it. What I like about it most is all of the zig-zag-y dark clouds that run throughout the structure.

I’m pretty pleased with how this HaHOO one turned out with the exception of the challenge of the upper left corner that I couldn’t do much about.
